Those who claim that teenage pregnancy or dropping from school is a life choice, and must not be judged by society, but rather be supported like any other life style, can use the same argument to justify serial rapists or murderers. After all, these, as well, are nothing but life choices.
While charities take care of individual, governments – while not forgetting about individuals – must take care of the society as a whole. Forgetting that a functioning society is more than a herd of individuals living their life choices is the safest way to chaos. We are not immune!

I sort of agree with you and sort of don't.
Dropping out to do nothing except waste your life - agree with you.
Dropping out because school is a damaging and toxic environment that is not fulfilling your educational requirements and then educating yourself to a standard at which you can run a business and/or do anything else you wish to achieve in the world - seems like a good choice to me - and my son made that one.
Teenage pregnancy because you are an air head who wants 'something to love you unconditionally' and a flat, money from the social and an 'exotic personal life' - agree with you.
Teenage pregnancy because made an uncharacteristic mistake but you are determined to be a good mother, make a good life for yourself and the baby and refuse to have an abortion because it is something against your moral conscience - seems like not so bad a choice and although it didn't happen to me as a teenager it was a 'there but for the Grace of God go I' piece of luck that it didn't.
But really the way the UK is going, isn't the criminal anti-social lifestyle choice the one that appears to be the desirable one?
We left the country eventually because we felt unwanted as a hard working honest honourable family in the UK and because every time we needed the infrastructure to support us - it made it very clear that it favoured liars, cheats, and criminals every time.
You seem like a very bright person - why would you want to choose to live in the UK when you can live anywhere else in the world?
